Hi,

Sorry, I the picutres look upright on my computer.. but are loading sideways here.

I am looking to paint a boring kitchen and spice it up... I do have to keep in mind re-sale in the near future.

The cabinets are offwhite.. we are not planning on painting them. Countertop is grey/white marble. Hardwood floor is golden oak. The appliances are white.. and knobs silver on cabinets. I am thinking about putting more silver accents by adding more knobs to the cabinets. We have an area rug in the kitchen which is multicolored persian rug.

I would like ot accent the back wall where the eating area is and back splash under the window.

The window above the sink is surrounded by the cabinets and i am not sure where to end the paint for the molding.

or what colors to use.  I the foyer leading into the kitchen is a cream color and the persian rug in the foyer has blues, purples, and reds. The other door leading into the dinningroom which is also cream colored walls... boring!! :-)

The sun only shines into the eating area in the PM.. the rest of day is only birght light and usually I need to turn on a light.  Thank you.

Michele

     Hi Michele,

All of the photos really help! I'd go with something really creamy golden like Sherwin-Williams 6114 Bagel in a satin or low sheen finish- no semi-gloss or gloss as this will add glare and make your room look smaller. I'd paint the walls AND ceiling in this color. Believe it or not, this will actually make your rooms look more spacious because you'll eliminate that white line where the wall meets the ceiling. Your cabinets will look fresher and your countertops will look fantastic.

Keep the trim around the sink window and all other windows white for character and definition. Yes, even that apron piece where you have the $5 sign. BUT, paint the vertical piece between the eating room windows with the wall color.

If you still want to paint an accent wall, look at deeper clay colors like 7708 Rustic Adobe or 7701 Cavern Clay. This will show off the deep red tones in the artwork and table cloth.

Let me know how it goes!
