Community Outreach Project - Makes A Difference

Trying to find a way to make a difference in your community and reach potential new clients? A community outreach project is the best way to let other's know about you and your business. We decided to assist a 70 year old Senior Center in our territory, Wilmington, Delaware. The Claymore Senior Center acts as a hub for the elderly through class offerings such as tai chi classes, exercise facilities, health awareness classes. We felt that there was no better organization to help than theirs. We know the importance that this facility serves to our local seniors here in Wilmington and we felt that they deserved some assistance on rehabing the facilities exterior. The last time this facility was painted was 1995 and was showing signs of heavy peeling and chipping paint. We joined our efforts with our local Sherwin Williams General Manager, Howard Shiber, to assist us in the cost for paint and we would supply the labor to rehab this facilities exterior facade. This 40 foot high building required a 4 man group to power wash and scrape all the loose and peeling paint off of the front fascade. Our project from start to finish took just over 5 days.
When our exterior painting project was complete, it was beautiful. We received so many compliments on our dedication to the project and our thoroughness. Donna Mansure, the directior of the facility was quoted as saying, "this was the best gift that our Senior Center could have ever received." Due to our efforts we were requested to return to assist them in the interior re-facing project that they will need in 2008. It just shows that one act of kindness returns with another. We have since received $18,000 worth of work solely from other members of the Senior Center. We proved that we paint each experience with the utmost care and workmanship.
So taking small steps to find ways to make a difference to members of your communities can really impact your bottom line as well.
