Wow- great house! Here's a Benjamin Moore color scheme that will bring out the best details for you:

    1. Painting the front door (including threshold and trim) and all window trim a deep greenish black to emphasize the stone detail and complement the brick. I like Benjamin Moore 1582 Deep River.

    2. Paint the porch columns, frieze shingles, and pilasters on the gable in a warm gray like 1529 Sting Ray.

    3. Paint all other trim OC-9 Ballet White

    4. Paint the porch 1537

    5. Paint the porch ceiling a surprising 709 Heavenly Blue

This may sound like a lot of colors, but they are mostly neutral and blend with each other to show off the architecture in a sophisticated way and  also bring out the warmth of the brick and stone. I'd also like to see you replace the porch light with a classic star light like this one from www.mydanilo.com (  http://www.mydanilo.com/glass-star-lights/frosted-glass-star-light-bronze-frame-16 )

You'll have to send AFTER photos of this one. I'm really excited to see how it turns out!

Thank you soooo much. I really like all of your suggestions and will send you the photo of the finished project next month. I just have a question--In your mind-are the windows (metal) left white or painted with the ballet white as well? I don't suppose you see shutters on the "turret" windows or would they be too narrow-looking? Thank you once again!

Great news! Make sure you test everything first to make sure that the "real" colors are perfect for your home.

I see all of the window trim being the 1582 Deep River. And I wouldn't recommend shutters on the turret. You'll find that with this fresher, more detailed color scheme you won't need anything else. Keep the focus on the front porch and make the porch light the special detail. You'll love it!

Here is the "after" photo. I am thrilled with the way the house is turning out. Your color choice was right on. Everyone loves this fresher look. I am still making up my mind about the front light. The painters have just finished and did a wonderful job. Thank you Shannon. You really know your stuff. Beth
