I wanted to put some pictures up here of the room I wanted to makeover. As you can tell it is in DESPARATE need of some updating! I was hoping to find a color that is more modern, would brighten up the room, and would look good with the color of the couches. I typically like color but I was thinking of going neutral. Honestly, I am game for anything except maybe orange.
The rooms is relatively small. The 1980s fireplace is something we'd have to work around. I've cleared the shelves of knick knacks.

These two small windows look out into a covered porch. The room doesn't get a lot whole lot of light.

The living room leads into this hallway which I've included because I've always painted it the same color. If we can not repaint this I suppose it would have to at least coordinate somewhat with the blue. Oh, and the lovely blue carpet.

Window view- at night. I took down curtains because I wanted to get new ones to coordinate with new color scheme. This couch is leather and the other is microfiber, but they are similar in color.

big blank wall, I somehow did not include kitchen entrance but it is on this wall. The kitchen is a mish mash of colors and quite a disaster itself, so I feel no real need to coordinate.

Let me know if you need any other pictures, I can put them up really quickly. Before I won this contest (yay!) I was considering either a light beige or perhaps a light buttery yellow color. Like I said, though, I am 100% open to suggestions because I have a horrible eye for color.
Here are two colors I had previously considered. Sherwin Williams Whole Wheat.
