Okay, to create more of a cottage feel you have to choose more cottage-like colors like taupes, grays, and creams. I'd like to see you change the siding color to something creamier and lighter. If you have to stay in the James Hardy brand, look at Cobblestone. Give you painter a sample of that color to color match his paint for the brick. Paint the windows and trim in a creamy white like 7042 Shoji White with dark taupe shutters like 7025 Backdrop. Paint the front door in a cheerful cottage color like 7726 Lemon Verbena.
Of course, a computer generated color chip of the siding color can't be very accurate, so you'll have to get paint chips or better, quarts of these colors to test with a sample of the Cobblestone siding color. But you'll see the softer, more cottage-y style start to emerge with these creamy rich colors. Hardware finishes should be somewhat rustic like oil rubbed bronze or antique brass.
Here are a few cottage pictures that might help you:
This brick cottage is painted pale taupe with creamy white trim. Notice how the dark bronze gutters and stained front door relate to the darker roof and create a perfectly rustic look.

This house has more of a gray tone to the siding which looks clean against the dark roof, white trim, and cheerful green garage doors.
