  • Please HELP! Bad Exterior Color

Hi Shannon! We need your help. We recenly decided to paint our house what we thought was going to be a soft brown/taupe color with a dark red door and white trim. When we came back from out of town the house had been painted a tan/beige color (it has a tint of orange when the sun hits it but it does...

  • Exterior color ideas for 1970 ranch

Hello! We have a ranch home built in 1970. We bought as a starter home...but with the housing market the way it is, it looks like this has become our forever home. So it's time for an update. The pale yellow and green have to go! (ESPECIALLY the yellow!) The quaint country look has just become dated...

  • Re: Choosing an exterior color

Hi Sherry, I wish I could see your home to give you an exact opinion. But in general I think that dark homes can be sophisticated and modern if you pay attention to the details. Dark colors will attract heat but that could be good in cold weather. You've chosen two of my favorite of Sherwin Williams...

  • Re: Painting exterior of home

I'm so happy to see you doing your research! As for the expert you hired, I'm sorry that didn't work out. What I find is that many people call themselves "experts" who simply enjoy choosing colors or like interior design. Sadly, that makes those of us who've studied color and...

  • Re: Exterior Paint: Comtemporary house

  • Re: Exterior Paint Colors?

Closer shots of the keystone detail and the stones around it would be great. And include a close up picture that shows enough of your address plate to help me see what the trim color looks like next to white. Make sense? Can't wait to see what you come up with

  • Re: Painting our brick house

I whole heartedly agree that it's time to paint the brick! But why stick with tan and brown? I'd love to see you consider colors that are fresh and warm like 6379 Jersey Cream with 6385 Dover White for the trim and 6613 Lei Flower for a bright pop of color on the front door. Have fun with it...

  • Very quaint stone cottage with red tile roof

I live in a large stone cottage. The interior is like a lodge with lots of beams and stone. My question is the exterior. We are getting ready to paint. It is mostly lime stone that has a grey to gold tone and the roof is red tile. I have had it painted teal and mediterranean coral for 10 years and it...
